Australian Survivor fans will remember where they were when they watched last night’s episode which featured a tribal council for the history books.

I was screaming, I was crying, I was throwing up.

On Sunday’s episode, the Villains tribe were sent to tribal after losing the immunity challenge to the Heroes, one of many challenges lost to the other tribe which is packed with plenty of challenge beasts.

For a TL;DR on the alliances within the Villains tribe: we’ve got the Spice Girls — George, Shonee and Liz — on one side, with the other four blokes — Simon, Jordie, Fraser, and Stevie — on the other. That being said, Jordie has been making moves lately by exchanging info with George, even revealing last night that Simon (thinks he) has an idol.

Ahead of tribal, Simon decided that it was King George’s time to go, this followed a few episodes of Simon calling the shots in his tribe which was quickly getting on his fellow villains’ nerves.

But while Simon was gunning for George, the Bankstown political operative was concocting a plan that might just be one of the most genius plays ever carried out on any season of Survivor, including on the US seasons.

This brings us to tribal council, which lasted for over half of the episode so we knew we were in for something special. From the beginning, George was coming for Simon as the two rivals spat venom at each other.

But then our hostess with the mostess, Jonathan LaPaglia threw a real spanner in the works: the tribe would take part in a dusk immunity challenge, with one player able to save themselves. Simon dominated the fire-building challenge and easily won, but it was what was happening on the sidelines that piqued my interest: George was (rather loudly) telling the group to switch their votes to Stevie.

Meanwhile, Simon instructed his alliance to pile all their votes on George, forgetting one important rule of Survivor: you always need a backup vote just in case the person you’re targeting has an idol. And yep, George had an idol… a legit idol.

The group voted and it seemed like Stevie was about to be blindsided. After the vote, George whipped out his idol necklace, leaving Simon truly gobsmacked. And the shocking events kept coming, as George instructed Simon to play his idol to save Stevie, spilling that Jordie had betrayed Simon by telling him about the idol.

Sidenote: Simon’s idol is not a real idol which made this entire mess even more delicious.

As George pressured Simon to save Stevie, he refused to play ball, which left Stevie questioning Simon’s loyalty. This was the perfect conclusion to what George was trying to do: break-up the boys alliance while recruiting new members.

At this stage, I was already screaming at my screen and heralding this episode as one of the greatest in history.

But guess what? GEORGE WAS NOT DONE. NO, MY FRIENDS. NOT AT ALL.

As JLP read out the votes, the Spice Girls had voted out… Fraser! Yep, that real estate agent sitting at tribal this entire time and not speaking a goddamn word. By voting out Fraser, George had successfully turned the other three men — Simon, Jordie, and Stevie — against each other. He’s also got a new ally in Stevie, giving him a majority alliance.

I mean, the word genius doesn’t even come close to describing what George pulled off. Twitter has truly combusted.

Survivor fans will never recover.

Spare a thought for Fraser, a man who was barely shown all season and then when his torch was snuffed, he was largely ignored as the rest of the Villains continued to bicker. Goodbye, Fraser. Thanks for your service.

The king does not miss.

Australian Survivor returns tonight at 7:30pm on Channel 10 and 10Play.
