‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ Is Getting A 2018 Revival Series ‘Cos True Friendship Lasts 4EVA
Break open your ol’ Baby-Sitters Club backpack, because our fave childhood show is getting the revival treatment and is returning to the small screen… this year!
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Walden Media and Michael De Luca are behind the series revival. The new show will reboot the ’90s Baby-Sitters Club TV series from Scholastic, which was then followed by the 1995 Baby-Sitters Club movie… which tbh is still universally hated by diehard BSC fans.
De Luca will be serving as executive producer, but in other exciting news Broad City’s Lucia Aniello and GLOW’s Rachel Shukert are in talks to direct and showrun.
The family-friendly series will be covering contemporary issues affecting teens, including stories surrounding divorce, racism, and belonging.
“As lifelong fans of The Baby-Sitters Club and its enduring messages of entrepreneurialism, empowerment, diversity and most importantly, female friendships, we couldn’t be more thrilled to work on this special project with Rachel and Lucia,” says Walden Media’s Naia Cucukov.
“We feel incredibly honored that Ann M. Martin has allowed us the chance to introduce the BSC to a new generation of future thought leaders and influencers.”
While there’s no confirmed premiere date yet for the show, all our fave characters from the books are expected to return for the series.
Hellz yeah!
