The Backstreet Boys Dressed Up As The Spice Girls & Our ’90s Minds Are Blown
All your ’90s fantasies have come true. Iconic groups the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys have combined to make a new girl/boy band mutation: fittingly called the Spice Boys.
Well, not so much. But the Backstreet Boys did deck themselves out in some pretty convincing Spice Girls-inspired drag, for a girl power performance during a BSB Cruise to Turks and Caicos.
“Celebrating all of the girl power that’s kept us going for 25 years. #SpiceBoys #BSBCruise2018,” the band captioned a group photo on Instagram.
All the boys got involved, with Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, A.J. McLean and Kevin Richardson surprising fans by coming out on stage dressed as their fave Spice Girl.
The crew performed ‘Wannabe’, ‘Say You’ll Be There’, ‘Spice Up Your Life’ and err…’Just a Girl’ by No Doubt. They were in the ball park, I guess.
Let’s break down each of their lewks:
AJ as Scary Spice
Wearing a full length leopard bodysuit, we can’t say AJ ain’t dedicated.
Howie D as Ginger Spice
Is his wig even the right colour?!? What has become of Ginger.
Brian as Sporty Spice
This is a hot mess. Get your shit together, Brian.
Kevin as Posh Spice
You can see he’s really feeling himself in this, and extra points for dedication to his character, the one and only Victoria Beckham.
Nick as Baby Spice
Dressed as arguably everyone’s fave Spice Girl, it’s criminal this part was given to my least favourite Backstreet Boy. Blasphemy!
