BAD BACHY: ‘The Bachelor’ Cops Heat For Last Night’s Pig-Chasing Challenge

Wtf, bachy? While we all enjoyed last night’s drama-filled ep of The Bachelor, what struck us as odd and unnecessary was that awful pig-chasing challenge.

ICYMI, a selection of women were pitted against one another, competing over which lass could catch the most piglets in the fastest time. While host Osher did warn everyone to be kind to the animals, this obvi came secondary to the women wanting to win.

Despite Osher’s words, the women were chasing the defenseless (and likely terrified) animals around a small pen and it got savage.

Today the RSPCA has condemned the use of the baby pigs in the ep, saying the show did not have approval for the activity and that the animal welfare organisation would be carrying out a investigation.

“We have requested the full unedited footage and Warner Bros are yet to supply it,” a statement said.

“RSPCA NSW takes any potential breaches of animal welfare very seriously and will be formally investigating this incident further.”

However The Bachelor producers have defended the use of the pigs in the challenge.

“Producers ensure any instance involving animals has RSPCA approval and a handler on set,” a spokesperson said.

“All participants were briefed by a handler on the humane handling of the pigs for this activity.”

Either way, viewers were not impressed and took to Twitter to blast the treatment of the piglets.

How about we let the contestants act like wild animals, and leave the poor piggies alone…
