Bernard Fanning Releases New Song, Announces Two New Albums
Aussie music legend, Bernard Fanning has gone BANG, releasing a new song, a new music video and announcing two new albums.
The former Powderfinger frontman – who’s also conquered the industry as a solo artist – shared his new song ‘Wasting Time’ online this morning, accompanied with a music video. The new tune is the first we’ve heard from Fanning since his Sophomore album ‘Departures’, released in 2013.
The announcement kinda came out of nowhere, with only a short, quirky video posted on his Facebook page last Thursday hinting of new work.
Fanning’s second album was a shift of pace from his folky debut album ‘Tea & Sympathy,’ but by the sounds of his new track, he’s back making the same music that saw him reach number one on triple j’s Hottest 100 in 2005 with his smash hit ‘Wish You Well.’
Along with the new song announcement, Fanning also revealed that he’s releasing a new album titled Civil Dusk on August 5.
Not only that… the new album is the first installment of a two-part album. The second album is set to drop early in 2017 and is titled ‘Brutal Dawn’.
“Wasting Time is out today, it’s the first single off my upcoming album Civil Dusk which will be out on August 5. Oh and that’s not all, Civil Dusk is actually part one of a series of two albums: the second instalment Brutal Dawn will be available in early 2017.”
Fair to say he hasn’t been wasting time at all (see what I did there). We can’t wait to hear more!
