In A Not-So-Shocking Twist, ‘Big Brother’ Evictee Josh Has Gone Rogue
He came, he saw, he baffled Australia, and then Josh Goudswaard left Big Brother as the first housemate evicted this season.
Josh’s reality TV stint was short, but memorable. As soon as he entered the house, viewers learnt that he already knew fellow housemate, Samantha Manovski, however their history was unclear. They apparently went on only a few Tinder dates, yet Josh described her as his ‘dream woman’.
Things got weird from here, as Josh corned Sam one night in the house’s bedroom to ask her whether she could see herself developing a crush on him. Samantha ended up pulling Josh aside the next day to quash any hopes Josh had of them reigniting a romance.
Josh then asked everyone to nominate him, as he wanted to leave the house. Then at the following eviction challenge, he joked about wanting to stab his fellow housemates in the back. It came as no huge surprise that challenge winner, Joel Notley, nominated him, before voting to send him home when his votes from the rest of the house were equal to Sam’s, who was also a Tuesday night nominee.

Not one to go out quietly, Josh left the Big Brother house by, once again, trying to win Sam back. “I don’t know if you remember, but on our first date I told you something afterwards and it was a quote from my favourite book,” he told Sam. “It said, ‘Desire is desire. The sun cannot bleach it, nor the tide wash it away’.”
OK! In short, Josh was a truly unique housemate.

And while his time on Big Brother might be over, he ain’t done stirring drama. Josh appeared on HIT WA’s show Allan & Carly for Breakfast where he spilled some spicy tea about what has ground his gears about his portrayal he on for the show. “Honestly it looked like I had ten different personalities. This is what annoyed me: it was my idea to put Sam into the show!” Josh claimed.
“They approached me for the show, they said: ‘Would you do the show?’ I said, ‘No, I can’t. My best friend is dying of cancer and I’m one of his two primary carers.’ I asked him [my friend] and he had seen me and Sam together… he was like ‘Why don’t you get them to put Sam on the show?'”
Josh said that as he wasn’t allowed to cross the border into Queensland at the time, he saw this as a chance to reunite with Sam, who he claimed he had been recently dating. “I’m just going to hang out with her and show her the type of person that I am. I set it up with her the whole time. We pretended that we didn’t know each other, because it was bad for strategy.”
Josh claimed that he only went on the show to be with Sam and wasn’t interested in becoming a “D-list” celebrity. “I hustled Big Brother to put Sam on the show… I wasn’t going to approach her to put her on the show unless it could be part of our love story,” Josh told the breakfast hosts.
Josh confirmed that his friend had since passed away.
Following his eviction, Josh also posted to his Instagram page taking aim at his edit, writing “Guess they cut out all the good bits that make sense.”

He also posted an Instagram Story while driving, where he joked to his followers: “F**king hell, they made me look like a psychopath on Big Brother. Not wrong! So what? I’ve got multiple personalities, but you know it’s a rigged show when all of us get voted off on the same night.”
BB royalty, Reggie Bird, commented her support of Josh in an Instagram comment.
Another all-star, Estelle Landy, also wrote on a post on the official Big Brother Instagram page to defend Josh.
