Blink-182 are finally back – older, wiser and without the iconic whingey vocals of former frontman Tom DeLonge. Today, they’ve debuted their latest track titled ‘Bored To Death’ through the lyric video available below.

The bands reformation comes after DeLonge fell out with fellow members Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker following a bitter public feud. Hoppus and Baker spoke to Rolling Stone Magazine back in January last year to clear the air that Tom was basically an ungrateful shit that was constantly letting them down. Apparently DeLonge quit the band and then took that back for legal reasons and basically a shit-fight ensued.

In their interview, the guys said that they just wanted to keep making and playing Blink songs, however Tom was making it very difficult by not appearing for things, trying to dictate a new style that no one else wanted and not committing to any projects. They said,

“It’s humiliating to be in a band where you’re apologizing for one person all the time.”

Taking up the reins in the resurgence is Matt Skiba from the band Alkaline Trio. Skiba does a stella job at filling in Tom’s shoes and nailing the Blink 182 sound.

Overall, ‘Bored To Death’ feels like a Blink track. It has all the guilty pleasures of a well structured pop-punk track, cringey lyrics that are full of clichés and Barker’s masterful drumming building up out of epic soft bridges to thumping hooks. 17 year old me definitely approves.

The band will release their new album, California on July 1.
