Bride and Prejudice’s Courtney Is Trying To Convince Instagram That Reality TV Isn’t Real And The Response Is Savage
Contrary to the fact that reality TV is 100% legitimate, honest and in no way dramatised – whatsoever – it seems ‘Bride and Prejudice’s‘ Courtney Cole is trying her best to spread some good ol’ alternative facts.
The bride-to-be, who was unceremoniously dumped on last night’s episode on Channel Seven, reckons the whole thing reeks of a stitch-up. Posting a fresh selfie to her ever-growing collection on Instagram, she’s alleging that sometimes reality TV lies to us.
NO. THIS CAN NOT BE. WE REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT.
In last night’s ep, the 18-year-old’s five-year relationship with her fiance Brad (20) suddenly unravelled when, after some Dutch courage, he decided to dodge a bullet.

As we were lead to believe, it all started when Courtney rang her bloke to check-in while he was out at a bar on his bucks party (that’s the first red flag right there). Totally pissed off with the sound of girls voices she could hear in the background at the (very unisex) pub, Courtney decided she’d try and crash the bucks to somehow catch and confront the lads betraying her trust. Her logic here is somewhat questionable but obviously, makes great car-crash TV.
After appearing out of the blue, a very confused Brad was all like “why did you come here”. Desperately trying to remember her logic for violating the bloke’s event, she claimed that Brad lied that he was at a pub when the venue is in fact described as a “rooftop bar” online. The conversation went like this:
Brad: “What does it say? Kings Cross Hotel. What’s a hotel? A pub.”
Courtney: *pulls out phone and googles* “It’s called a rooftop cocktail bar”
Brad: “That’s a pub!”
Courtney: “It’s not, Brad!”
Which resulted in:
Now in an attempt to convince us she was stitched up, Cole has posted to Instagram with the caption “Tune into the web of lies spun by a set up TV show”.
As the comments filled up with a mix of responses, Courtney wrote:
“Really appreciate the support from each and everyone one of you! If I could spill all the beans and tell the real truth believe me I would, unfortunately the TV show has me bound so all I can do is say this is not how things went down, just two young kids manipulated and knowing no better!”
Now in some sense, we feel sorry for her. Mostly for her naive belief that producers weren’t willing to manipulate, supercut and draw blood to feed our thirst for drama.
But mostly because the comments on her Instagram page are starting to get personal and v nasty. Over the past few hours, the comments on the pic have become an absolute shit-storm of back and forth abuse hurled at Courtney and at the other commentors. Courtney hasn’t done herself much justice either, biting back and perpetuating more drama from the never resolved haters.
As Courtney will quickly learn, signing your life away to a reality TV program has both its pros and cons: a shot at the spotlight at the expense of dignity and deprecating crazy-ass trolls. Sometimes it’s just easier to stay quiet and ride out the reality show wave.
