Gird your loins fam because your favourite (and filthiest) regency drama, Bridgerton, is back for a second helping of horniness.

The first season of Netflix’s wildly successful Shonda Rhimes series was known for its steamy sex scenes, especially between the eldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page), the Duke of Hastings. Season 2 is focused on the romantic pursuits of Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), the oldest brother who starts the season seeking a suitable wife to marry.

Anthony is cynical about finding a love match, instead simply hoping to wed any woman respectable enough to make his family proud. Enter the Sharma family, a dynasty hailing from India who quickly become hot property in high society. The Queen takes a special liking to the youngest daughter Edwina, who she names the season’s diamond (aka the most prized marriage prospect for men to fight over), but it’s Edwina’s half-sister Kate (Sex Education’s Simone Ashley) who captures Anthony’s attention.

Kate and Anthony started out as enemies, but their sexual chemistry was immense. But as Anthony was hellbent on finding a wife, he courted Edwina, eventually proposing to her, and they had a wedding, but while standing under the altar, Edwina finally noticed that Anthony’s affections were with Kate. Scandalous!

Anthony and Kate struggled to decide where to go from there, which was made even more complicated by them having super hot sex in a garden. Season 2 made fans wait until episode seven for the two protagonists to finally get it on — but it was worth it. Thankfully for viewers, after many episode of Anthony and Kate staring at and yearning for each other, they ended the season married.

While Kanthony and the Bridgerton clan dominated most of the drama, the Featheringtons also had to face some difficult decisions in the aftermath of Lord Featherington’s death. Ever the villain, Lady Featherington made attempts to trick the Lord’s heir Jack into getting engaged to her daughter in an attempt to protect the family’s inheritance.

Penelope continued her secret duties as Lady Whistledown, but had to put in extra effort to hide her identity from the Queen, along with her bestie Eloise, who became increasingly skeptical about the gossip monger as the season unfolded. In the final minutes of the Season 2, Eloise finally unmasked Lady Whistledown, leading to an explosive exchange with Penelope that could signify the end of their wholesome friendship.

The new season might be light on sex scenes compared to Season 1, but it’s still left fans hooked. And the memes are a huge mood.
