Britney Spears is finally free from her conservatorship and is now using her voice to talk about all the things she previously kept quiet on.

Just last week, the star candidly spoke about the #FreeBritney movement and how grateful she was to her fans who “saved” her life. In an Instagram video, Spears gushed about all the little things she’s able to do now that her conservatorship is over, and used the opportunity to share that she doesn’t look at herself as a victim.

“I’m not here to be a victim. I worked for 20 years and worked my ass off.  I’m here to advocate for people with real disabilities and real illnesses,” said Spears. “I’m a very strong woman, so I can only imagine what the system has done to those people… So, hopefully my story will make an impact and make some changes in the corrupt system.”

“And the #FreeBritney movement, you guys rock. Honestly,” she added. “My voice was muted and threatened for so long, and I wasn’t able to speak up or say anything. You gave it awareness to all of [the public].”

“I honestly think you guys saved my life in a way 100 percent.”

But one person Spears is not thanking for their support is early ’00s diva and fellow Mickey Mouse Club member, Christina Aguilera.

Over the weekend, Spears put the singer on blast via Instagram Stories over Aguilera’s decision to not speak up about her 13-year conservatorship.

The newly ignited “feud” started when Aguilera avoided questions about Spears on the Latin Grammys red carpet on Friday.  When asked whether she had been in “any communication” with Spears since the conservatorship had ended, Aguilera looked toward her publicist, frowned and said “I can’t” before running off.

“No, we’re not doing that tonight, I’m sorry, thank you,” said Aguilera’s publicist, before pulling her away.

“But I’m happy for her,” Aguilera added while leaving.

Sharing the video to her Instagram Story, Spears slammed Xtina for “refusing to speak” when the singer knew the truth.

“I love and adore everyone who supported me… but refusing to speak when you know the truth is equivalent to a lie!!!!” Spears captioned the video. “13 years being in a corrupt, abusive system yet why is it such a hard topic for people to talk about???”

“I’m the one who went through it!!!! All the supporters who spoke up and supported me, thank you,” she concluded. “Yes I do matter!!!!!”

While blasting Xtina for her lack of support, Spears also thanked Lady Gaga for proudly speaking about the situation while doing a House of Gucci red carpet on the same night.

However, Britney Spears seems to forget that Christina Aguilera actually did speak out about the conservatorship at length back in June when Spears delivered a blistering testimony about her experience over the last decade.

At the time, Aguilera posted a childhood photo with Spears and noted that she found it “unacceptable that any woman, or human, wanting to be in control of their own destiny might not be allowed to live as they wish”.

“While I am not behind the closed doors of this very layered and personal yet public conversation — all I can do is share from my heart on what I’ve heard, read and seen in the media,” she tweeted.

“The conviction and desperation of this plea for freedom leads me to believe that his person I once knew has been living without compassion or decency from those in control.”

“To a woman who has worked under conditions and pressure unimaginable to most, I promise you she deserves all of the freedom possible to live her happiest life,” continued Aguilera. “My heart goes out to Britney. She deserves all the TRUE love and support in the world.”

In case you’ve forgotten, Spears and Aguilera’s original feud in ’00s started after their infamous 2003 MTV Video Music Awards performance with Madonna where the pair fought over the spotlight.

The two singers went back and forth in the press and Aguilera eventually dissed Spears by calling her a “lost little girl… someone who desperately needs guidance”. Spears then called Aguilera “rude” and “fake”, which prompted Xtina to criticise Spears’ engagement ring from Kevin Federline and say that her rival acts like “trailer trash”.

But honestly, Britney Spears starting a new feud with Christina Aguilera at the same time that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are reuniting, Lindsay Lohan is back making movies and low-rise jeans are on the rise again sure feels like history is repeating itself all over again. And personally, I love to see it.
