The Call To Make Matty J The Next Bachelor Is Real, But Is It A Good Idea?

Last night, our hopes, dreams and notions of true love were SMASHED, as Bachelorette Georgia Love chose Lee as the winner- leaving everyone’s fave Matty J in tears.

The ending seemed at odds with the story us as viewers had seen develop on screen, where Matty and Georgia appeared to have something that none of the rest could rival. Channel Ten – those shifty geniuses – once again tricked us into thinking we knew the winner.

As they did, in the case of Nikki; which has left us all feeling bloody ripped off.

The immediate reaction on social media went from rage-filled anger to calling for Matty J to be the next bachelor. It’s the obvious choice. He was the stand-out of the season: funny, sweet, well-spoken and babein AF. He’d deserve it.

Ladies around Australia would line up for days for a chance to be on his season and on paper he seems like the perfect option.

But as we’ve just seen with Richie, taking on the bachy crown can really dullify someone that we initially found interesting.

The Richie we saw in The Bachelor, was a VERY different Richie we met in Sam Frost’s season of The Bachelorette. Missing any real remnants of personality, he basically became a producers script, with an awkward laugh added here and there.

Do we want this to happen to Matty J? Can our hearts take it?!

We will have wait to see if Matty is even keen to take on the role. If not, all fingers would point to fan-favourite Cameron as another exciting option.
