We’re Calling Out Blake & Sam’s Bullying Behavior On Tonight’s Bachy Ep
On tonight’s ep of The Bachelorette, we saw the ugly side of ‘boy banter’ with Blake and Sam ganging up on Jarrod. It was blatant bullying and it’s not on.
It all went down during the group date, with the gang all hanging around in onesies at “Sophie’s house”. It was all fun and games but there was a nasty dynamic going on between the boys targetting Jarrod.
We need to call this out. If it was women exhibiting this schoolyard behaviour (i.e last season’s Jen and Leah) they would be immediately labelled bullies or mean girls, and rightly so.
It was befitting that the boys were dressed in animal onesies, as Sam and Blake were acting like a pack of wolves, and were just hounding on Jarrod the entire night. It was just needless. Blake, in particular, was out of line.
Twitter called out the bullying in tonight’s ep:
I really don't enjoy watching bullies. Blake and Sam need to leave tonight. Hopefully @sophiemonk takes a stand. #BacheloretteAU

Jarrod may be too intense and kind of annoying but there's no reason to bully the poor bugger #bacheloretteau

Blake was probs a year 7 bully who hit puberty too early and decided to steal shirts while others were in sports class.#BacheloretteAU

For real all of these guys were the dudes in high school who got off on making the teacher cry. #BacheloretteAU

It’s started once Jarrod brought up #PissPlantGate – for the unacquainted (you’re lucky) this is the accusation that Blake pissed on Jarrod’s love plant. We know he did it, so this shit is just petty.
Blake and Sam were total mean girls, taunting Jarrod.
Jarrod was not impressed.
Then Blake just started hurling abuse at Jarrod. He was slurring his words, so who knows how drunk he was at this point?!
Tbh, after watching this nasty business, I need a stiff drink.
Same Mack, same.
Blake doesn’t stop.
‘Judging you…’
If we thought this was bad, it got worse. Sophie decided to get nostalgic and bring out the boys’ childhood toys.
Jarrod was given his blanket from when he was a kid and he became visibly choked up, as did a few of the guys. The blanket brought him back to memories of his grandparents who sadly passed away.
It was super sweet, but hey, I love seeing men cry.
Blake, the manly man, with a dick-trunk on his head, does not like seeing men cry.
He made fun of Jarrod in front of everyone.
It was truly cooked.
Even as Jarrod was telling the story of his blanket’s origin, Blake was cackling throughout as loud as a hyena.
Blake’s interruption forced Jarrod to say “Shut up man, such losers!”. It was super awkward to watch.
We all know Jarrod can be a bit of a keeno in terms of his obsession with Sophie, but no one deserves to be treated like that.
It’s not ‘boy banter’, it’s bullying and not okay.
