Chelsea Lazkani From ‘Selling Sunset’ Has Answered A Burning Question
Selling Sunset is one of Netflix’s longest-running reality shows. For six seasons, the show has followed a group of luxury realtors working for The Oppenheim Group.
Over time, it’s become less about the luxury houses, and more about the messy drama created by the Selling Sunset stars, as well as their incredible wardrobe.
The women are often stepping out in full glam, clad in designer outfits from head to toe. On the one hand, I’m a bit jealous of how put together they always look, and on the other hand, I wouldn’t give up my trackpants for anything.
Real estate agent Chelsea Lazkani joined the show last year, and fans have been drawn to her outspoken nature and ability to, well, keep it real.
Now, the star has revealed an interesting fact: The cast aren’t given a wardrobe budget or access to stylists. Instead, they have to pay for everything out of their own pocket. I’d say “ouch”, but some of the cast members are rumoured to be worth millions.
“We get this question a lot, we do not get a wardrobe or glam budget. This is very standard in reality TV,” Chelsea said on TikTok. “We love to bring the fashion, so we get glam to film for the most part…and it is out of our own pockets.
“No wardrobe budget, no one pays for our glam, nobody pays for our outfits.”
She added that some of her co-stars have stylists, but she chooses to style herself. “That’s why if you see me looking crazy, it’s my fault, and my fault only,” she joked.

Wasn’t there a fashion library on Selling Sunset?
The cast need to provide their own outfits to film in, but by using places like the Albright Fashion Library in Los Angeles, they can rent unique pieces instead of buying them.
The original Albright Fashion Library was started in New York City, and has over 20,000 carefully curated items for rent. Tatler reports that Sex and the City’s stylist Patricia Field was a frequent visitor, and The Devil Wears Prada also pulled pieces from the collection.
During Season 4, Chrishell Stause and Mary Fitzgerald were seen browsing through outfits in the space. Chrishell actually tried on JLo’s iconic Versace dress, you know, the dress that resulted in the literal creation of Google Images.
Don’t get too excited though, because according to the LA Times, an outfit will set you back around $1,545 AUD. I guess I’ll stick to thrifting instead!
