Chris Brown fans are a ‘loyal’ mob who have recently been coming to terms with the news that the US rappers’ tour will not go ahead in Australia after his visa was rejected on the grounds of his history of domestic violence. Following the official announcement that his shows across the country had been cancelled earlier in December, people have been venting their frustrations in all kinds of ways.

Yesterday there was a glimmer of hope that Chris Brown might empathise with the position of his fans, after a Facebook post began circulating on an unofficial facebook page. In it, Brown posted the story of an Australian woman who had refused to refund her ticket and sent him a photo of herself looking pretty angry.

Not wanting to let anyone down, he announced that he would be flying her and four of her friends to the US to see his tour, all expenses paid. Pretty damn good! As can be seen pictured below, people began losing their shit and the post went viral, quickly amassing nearly 30,000 likes, 7,000 comments and 615 shares on Facebook. It was a glimmer of good news amongst the sea of disappointment – Chris Brown mightn’t be such a shit bloke after all:

However, like 99.9% of things in life, most things that that sound too good to be true generally are (with the exception being the croissant burger, which does not disappoint). The image actually belongs to sisters Chrissy and Sarah Kirkis who uploaded the original pic to Instagram and not Facebook at all.

Chrissy told TheVine.com.au:

I bought these tickets as a not only a huge fan of Chris Brown, but as a birthday present for my sisters 17th!

As she didn’t know she was going up until on her birthday the day before the concert was suppose to go ahead I found out 10 days before that the show got cancelled! Spewing we couldn’t go and her birthday present ruined!

Considering the amazing gift she had gone to the effort to organise, she still presented them to her sister Sarah on the big day.

She was so disappointed as to many other fans that got tickets to the show…  Being silly that we are and how angry and disappointed I was, I said to my sister, “post that on Instagram and see how many likes you get!

Here’s the original gram:

Chrissy got a bit of a fright when only a few hours later she logged on to Facebook to see herself tagged in the post which in the space of 5 hours had gone ballistic. At first there was total confusion and excitement, was it all true? Then panic.

Because it’s the internet and people can suck, there had been numerous threats made against her with some people who were jealous having the nerve to insult her and complain that they too weren’t extended the trip. She couldn’t believe it.

I was shocked what nerve some people have and how quick they can judge!

Quickly launching multiple complaints and reporting the image to Facebook around 4.30pm on Monday, the image was finally taken offline after a further five and a half hours. Chrissy says,

“It just made me think how ridiculous celebrity impersonators are and what rights they have! Facebook should be knuckling down on all fake accounts”

The fake Chris Brown hasn’t apologised for the incident and there’s still plenty of people out there hoping Brown might extend the generous offer their way too.

In the meantime, Chrissy’s says:

Lessoned learned, Dont post anything with a celebrities name on it! it can lead you down the wrong path
