Chris Hemsworth Is In That New ‘Crocodile Dundee’ Movie, WTAF Is Happening?!
Okay, now I’m positive this thing is a hoax.
Over the weekend, a trailer appeared out of nowhere for a new Crocodile Dundee movie starring Danny McBride. And naturally, we had questions. Questions like “how did we not hear about this?” and “who the hell at Screen Australia thought this was a good idea?”
People on the internet were also sceptical, with some speculating the clip was part of an elaborate viral marketing campaign for an as-of-yet unidentified product. My money is on the people who make Akubra hats.
In any case, the plot thickened this morning when a second trailer was unveiled, this one featuring the God of Thunder himself.
According to the film’s newly updated website, Chris Hemsworth plays Wally Jr., an outback guide, opposite McBride as Crocodile Dundee’s long-lost American son.
“This expert outdoorsman prides himself on knowing all there is to know about the land down under,” says the website of Hemsworth’s character. “But even he will have his hands full keeping his new American friend out of trouble.”
Dundee: The Son of a Legend Returns Home (sounds like a legit title) supposedly hits cinemas this year.
