Disney+ Is Delivering All The Feels This Holiday With A Whole Lot Of Chrissy Movies & TV Series

Brought to you by Disney+

Now streaming your Christmas favourites.

It’s the most wonderful time of year! Christmas is just around the corner and there’s no better time to round up the family, grab the popcorn, and line up your Christmas faves.

In between blasting Mariah Carey on loop, we all know the best part about Christmas is watching back-to-back Xmas movies and specials, and luckily Disney+ is your home for Christmas these holidays.

With a lineup of all the essential Christmas movies teamed with your iconic TV series holiday-themed episodes, Disney+ is your go-to spot to get everyone in the family into the festive spirit — yes, even your grumpy grandpa.

From cult favourite The Santa Clause to the annual must-watch Home Alone, there’s something for every family member — and to break up the festive cheer of the movies, Disney+ also has the best Christmas episodes from the likes of New Girl, Modern Family, How I Met Your Mother, and Grey’s Anatomy.

Organise the snacks and kick your sibling off your favourite spot on the couch, because here’s what Disney+ is serving up this festive season:

The Santa Clauses

Our first Christmas treat is The Santa Clauses, an Original series based on the beloved movie trilogy. It’s a continuation of 2006’s The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause and stars Tim Allen, Elizabeth Mitchell, Eric Lloyd, and David Krumholtz reprising their original roles. And let’s all ignore the fact that The Santa Clause movies were actually that long ago.

Marvel Studios’ The Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special

Chris Pratt absolutely owns his role as Starlord and he knows it. The holiday special is directed by MCU favourite James Gunn and follows the Guardians as they try to find the greatest gift in the Galaxy for Starlord AKA Peter Quill.

Home Alone

‘90s icon Macaulay Culkin defending his family home from two bumbling burglars after accidentally being left home alone at Christmas? Flawless movie, no notes.

Donna Hay Christmas

Delude yourself this Christmas into thinking that you too can set up an exquisite Christmas spread, from the ultimate holiday ham to a perfect pavlova. Jokes aside, if anyone can actually help us make the ultimate Christmas feast, it’s probably Donna Hay.

Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye

Another MCU offering, this time an Original series starring sharpshooter Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye, and the first appearance of Hailey Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. The two partner up to help Clint make it back to his family before Christmas. A great way to dive into the MCU without missing out on any Christmas spirit!

Noelle

What is Christmas without some dramatic sibling showdowns? 2019’s Disney+ Original Noelle stars Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader as Noelle and Nick Kringle, as Nick struggles to complete his training to replace his father as the next Santa. It may not be Kardashian-level sibling drama, but it’s festive!

Die Hard

Technically, it counts. Released in 1988, Die Hard wasn’t expected to be anything special. Almost 30 years later, it was deemed culturally significant enough to earn a place in the US National Film Registry, among the likes of The Breakfast Club and Forrest Gump. So if anyone at the family Christmas dinner asks you what you’re doing with your life, remind them that Die Hard took 30 years to be properly recognised, so let me eat my pavlova in peace.

Jingle All The Way

If you need any reminder to get onto your Christmas gift list early, this is it. Jingle All The Way stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sinbad as two fathers battling it out for the last Turbo-Man action figure for their sons because they left it ‘til Christmas Eve to buy a present. Rookie mistake.

And if you want to reminisce on some of your fave TV shows’ Christmas specials, Disney+ has you covered:

Movies and miniseries can be a commitment, so maybe you want to ring in the holidays with your favourite TV shows and their Christmas episode. Disney+ has got you covered there too.

How I Met Your Mother, “How Lily Stole Christmas” (Season 2, Episode 11)

The Christmas decor goes hard in this episode as Lily punishes Ted for calling her a “grinch” (hint: it was much worse than grinch) while she and Marshall were broken up.

New Girl, “The 23rd” (Season 1, Episode 9)

Maybe not the best episode for gift inspo (unless you’re into anatomically correct heart-soft toys?). And holiday office party episodes probably deserve their own list.

The Simpsons, “Marge Be Not Proud” (Season 7, Episode 11)

Nothing transports me back to childhood quite like the memories of watching The Simpsons every night at 6pm. This episode still pains me to watch, but the pay-off is worth it.

Grey’s Anatomy, “Holidaze”, (Season 6 Episode 10)

Not the most festive option of Christmas episodes, but you can’t go wrong with the original cast of Grey’s Anatomy.

Modern Family, “White Christmas”, (Season 7, Episode 9)

No one does chaotic but wholesome family energy like Modern Family and this Christmas episode is no exception. Also includes some serious Christmas decor inspo.
