Stylists need more credit. Because they have the power to wield an It Girl into existence with a pair of slingbacks and a choppy bang, and I know that sounds ridiculous, but it’s happening in real time, right now.

Daisy Edgar Jones was likely a name you before this year (sending kind regards to Normal People), but the words associated with her were: British, cute, actor. Very top line, very formal, very nice. But since her whirlwind promo tour for Twisters, those words have changed.

Daisy made the strategic decision to switch stylists before her Twisters tour, trading in Nicky Yates (who also dresses Claire Foy and Phoebe Dynevor) for Dani Michelle – the stylist behind Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner’s biggest fashion wins. With Dani on her team we’ve seen her switch from nice dresses and flattering cuts to look-at-me dresses with groundbreaking cuts. The change has felt like a transformation for the actor, without drifting her style so far away that it feels unrecognisable or try-hard. Compared to other fashion evolutions taking place right now from Katy Perry and Camila Cabello, Daisy still feels like herself and not like she’s cosplaying as Charli XCX.

Paired with a slight tweak of her hair – adding a floppy, boho curtain bang – Daisy has been spotted on every fashion site, has been pinned on many an inspo board and has taken up far too much of my brainspace, and so I simply have to share every outfit pic with you.
