Last night’s Dancing With The Stars took an emotional turn when Samuel Johnson performed a routine dedicated to his sister Connie, who passed away in 2017 after a long battle with cancer.

For last night’s episode, the stars were asked to choose a significant year in their lives and to tell the story of what happened through their dance. Samuel’s choice was brave as hell considering how raw it all is. Connie passed away from breast cancer in 2017, after previously fighting two other types of cancer — bone cancer when she was a child, and uterine cancer when she was in her twenties.

Samuel and his partner performed a powerful contemporary routine to Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s ‘See You Again’, with Samuel saying his sister was “not just a cancer patient.” It’s very touching and lovely, and now my face won’t stop leaking.
