It’s not often that a Christmas movie or TV show comes along that not only feels completely original, but is actually good.
As a Christmas movie aficionado, I’ve seen it all, and most of the time the films fall firmly into the so-bad-it’s-good basket. But this isn’t the case with Netflix’s new rom-com Dash and Lily, which is legitimately delightful from start to finish.
The eight-episode season follows teenagers Dash and Lily in the lead up to Christmas, as they begin exchanging messages left in a notebook in a New York City bookstore. Dash is a total scrooge, while Lily lives and breathes all things Christmas, and they help each other get out of their comfort zones, while both facing the holiday season alone. It’s just a wonderful watch, and with each episode only running around 25 minutes, it’s way too easy to binge in a day.
Netflix viewers are low-key obsessed with the show and the reactions on Twitter are too funny.
