Oh baby, now we’ve got bad blood.

Donald Trump – convicted felon and huge loser – just fucked with the wrong voters.

“I accept!” Trump posted on social media platform, Truth Social; sharing a collection of partially AI-generated images, including Taylor Swift as Uncle Sam, and Swift fans wearing “Swifties for Trump” t-shirts along with the headline, “Swifties Turning to Trump after ISIS Foiled Taylor Swift Concert”. 

Above the headline, written in red, is the word “Satire”, a concept clearly lost on Trump.

This is pretty fucked on a couple of levels, I reckon.

Firstly, who keeps giving this man access to social media? Is it not at all alarming that the Republican presidential nominee is sharing deepfake images to millions of people? 

Secondly, while three of the four images are innocuous enough (aside from being creepy af), Trump flippantly sharing anything ISIS related is so concerning, particularly given his propensity to incite islamophobia from his supporters. 

The creator of said image, an X user by the name of @Amuse, cleared the air (and his name) via a tweet that clarified the imagery was overtly satirical, and while it’s relatively harmless shared from his own account, the reposting from Trump is a completely different story. 

For reference, Taylor Swift’s three Vienna shows from her Eras Tour were cancelled earlier this month when “authorities uncovered a terror blueprint to attack revellers,” subsequently arresting two teen males who “pledged allegiance to the terrorist group Islamic State,” as per ABC.

For Trump to make light of this is just so… Trump.

Thirdly, and most importantly, why would you piss off Taylor Swift of all people?! She is quite literally the most powerful woman in pop and/or the world, and her influence over the Swifties mirrors that of a cult leader. 

Taylor is yet to officially endorse Democratic nominee (and notable Brat) Kamala Harris, however a “Swifties4Kamala” group emerged earlier this month (with over 180,000 members) after Trump’s VP J.D. Vance criticised “childless cat ladies”, aka Taylor Swift. 

As we saw in Taylor’s 2020 documentary, Miss Americana, the superstar struggled to find her political voice (particularly due to her conservative, southern upbringing). In the film, we see footage of Taylor nervously taking to social media for the first time in her career to make a political plea to her fans, in which she endorsed the Democrats during the 2018 midterm elections. 

In 2020, Taylor tweeter her disdain for Trump during the pandemic, urging voters to “vote early” and get him the fuck out of power (my words, not hers lol). 

Closer to the election, she unequivocally endorsed Biden during an interview with V Magazine, stating, “I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election. Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to start the healing process it so desperately needs.”

With this one post from Trump on his silly little social media platform, it almost feels like he’s now forcing Taylor’s hand, and not in the way that’s going to end well for him. If the woman can write a 30 song album dedicated to a month-long situationship while performing a world tour, who the fuck knows what will come of all this. 

Stay tuned folks, because as we all know, karma is the Swifties’ boyfriend.
