STRANGER DANGER: Jerry Seinfeld Speaks Out About That Savage Kesha Shutdown
It was the moment that sent viewers into a full-body cringe.
Earlier this week, Pop star Kesha approached comic Jerry Seinfeld (mid-interview) for a hug, and was swiftly shut-the-fuck-down. But now Jerry has explained what really went down and why he was not keen on sharing the love.
Speaking to an Extra reporter, Seinfeld explained that he had no clue who Kesha was, and to him, she was a just a stranger rudely interrupting his interview.
Seinfeld said:
“I’m 63, I don’t know every pop star,” he said.
“I was right in the middle of an interview, it was a little off. When you get to be my age and you’ve done a couple things, you have your own reality, in my reality … I don’t hug a total stranger. I have to meet someone, say hello. I gotta start somewhere … hug isn’t first moment of a human, two humans. I never did that.”
Later in the night he did say he had a laugh about it with Kesha, who is admittedly a huge Seinfeld fan – but she still didn’t get that hug, he told Extra.
“I’m so flattered by that, but the TV only works one way … I can’t see who’s watching,” he said.
“She was very nice about it, we laughed about it,” he said.
Sadly, the two didn’t hug it out.
