Just three weeks after the horrific attacks at The Bataclan Theatre, American band Eagles of Death Metal have returned to the stage in Paris.

Appearing as special guests on-stage with U2, the lead singers of the two bands (Bono and Jesse Hughes) embraced before breaking into a thrilling rendition of Patti Smith’s ‘People Have The Power’.

Bono introduced them by saying:

“They were robbed of their stage three weeks ago and we would like to offer them ours tonight.”

The 16,000-strong crowd at AccorHotels Arena enjoyed an emotional set, full of tributes and references to the November 13 attacks. U2 had shows planned for November 14 and 15 but had to postpone due to the horrible circumstances.

This will no doubt be a big step forward for the Eagles of Death Metal band members who were understandably shaken to the core after the attacks.
