We Kicked It With Ellia Green While She Played Fortnite – And Here’s What Happened

Ellia Green is no stranger to having things thrown at her. She is an Olympic Rugby 7s player, after all! But I’m sure she never thought, at any point in her career, that she would be trying to catch food in her mouth, while playing Fortnite on the Xbox One X. But here we are. And boy, did we see some things.
#1 First Things First: She’s The Realest
Before we get into all the stuff that we tried to distract Ellia with, can we just acknowledge that THE GIRL HAS MOVES. Fortnite has become infamous for it’s various dance routines, and honestly, I don’t think this is the first time that Ellia has busted a dance-floor winner out.
If Rugby 7s doesn’t work out for her (unlikely, seeing as she has won a literal Olympic gold medal for it), her fallback can always be recreating video game grooves.
#2 Come Getti The Confetti (I’m So Sorry)
Now, time to break an athlete’s focus – usually, easier said than done. When you have a confetti cannon at close range though, things change. The leap of surprise that Ellia does should really indicate to us that maybe it’ll be too easy to throw her off if we keep literally hurling things at her. So what do we do?
#3 Yep, Throw Something Else At Her Immediately
A step further this time – nobody moves quite as quickly as an elite athlete when you throw something at them. Usually, it’s a rugby ball, but today, unfortunately for Ellia, it was freezing water. And the incredible speed at which she flings her arms about on the couch, nearly crushing Rae, shows that maybe we should stop throwing things at her. So…what do we do?
#4 Throw ONE MORE THING (This Is The Last One, We Swear!)
At least this one is kind of enjoyable! And it showcases the incredible hand-eye-mouth co-ordination of one of our favourite athletes, who can catch 1/3 lollies in her mouth. Not bad for someone who is trying to focus on winning a game of Fornite, and who has been subjected to us trying to do nothing but distract her from that goal, for this entire time. Give the girl a break!
#5 Don’t Let Her Out Of The Web TOO Easily…
It’s one thing to try and surprise someone while they try to focus on the task at hand, and it is whole other ball game to frighten them to the point where they are completely distracted. And yes, we explored both tactics, many times. Yes, we happened to spook one of our greatest rugby players with a fake spider. And thank you for asking – it was hilarious. If you zoom in, you can almost see the moment that Ellia nearly gives up completely. Mission = accomplished.
#6 Final Wrap-Up
While Ellia put up a huge fight after being drenched, confetti-ed, and terrified out of her mind, it wasn’t a happy ending for her life within Fortnite. But hey, Ellia, if it is any consolation: while Punkee successfully distracted you, you still outdanced us all. Some you win, some you lose.
