The 2016 Emmys kicked off to a semi-awks start with funnyman Jimmy Kimmel being introduced as Dr. Bill Cosby. His attempt to get the crowd cringing in their seats was a success and set the tone for his banter throughout. As expected, it didn’t take long for him to throw some shade Donald Trump‘s way and even later delivered hand made lunch box meals to celebrities made by his mum.  Check out his intro below:

Later Matt Damon crashed the stage to confront Kimmel and rub it in his face for losing out to John Oliver. Check it out below:

From there, the ceremony was not short of funny moments – but at the end of the day it was both Game Of Thrones with 23 total nominations and The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story with 22 total nominations that stole the show.

In the end, Game Of Thrones took out the prestigious award for ‘Outstanding Drama Series‘. It’s the second time that GoT has won the prestigious gong, following six consecutive nominations in the category. All up, the legendary show has received 110 Emmy Award nominations and 36 wins, making it equally the most recognised TV show of all time alongside long-running sitcom Frasier.

One of Game Of Throne’s big upsets though came from Aussie actor Ben Mendelssohn who walked away with the statue for ‘Best Supporting Actor‘ in a drama for his role in Bloodline against both Peter Dinklage and Kit Harrington. Others in the category included Michael Kelly (House of Cards) and Jon Voight (Ray Donovan). Congrats Ben!

Without further delay – check out all the winners from the 2016 Emmy Awards below.
