Once in awhile, can we just speak to one another like human beings – without a subtle inclusion of objectification, sexualisation and everyday sexism? Apparently not. Emilia Clarke had to deal with a gross statement by Matt LeBlanc today at the 2016 Emmy Awards and we’re not really cool with it.

As Clarke stood on the red carpet to the side of LeBlanc being interviewed, when the Friends star was asked if he was a fan of Game Of Thrones, he actually thought it was okay to answer:

“I saw the first season and then kind of fell out of touch with it…and I guess that’s when she [gesturing at Clarke] started getting naked, so I need to catch up,” he said.

*A chorus of ‘EWWWWWWWWW!’ spills out across the world*

Here’s the clip below:

It’s the first WTF moment of the awards and if LeBlanc thinks that’s an appropriate thing to say to an Emmy nominee, an actress or err… just any woman, than he’s just as clueless and misogynistic as his famous friends character Joey.
