In typical reality TV show style, Farmer Wants A Wife contestant Corista has revealed that her experience on the dating show wasn’t exactly as it seemed, saying that producers craftily edited her shock exit to make it look as though she was bitter.

On our TVs, we watched Corista seemingly leave FWAW in the dead of night, after she found out that her co-star Clare ‘won’ the coveted date with Farmer Brad. The scenes made it appear that Corista was pissed she didn’t get chosen so she threw a tantrum and scooted out of there.

However, the reality star has now come forward and said that she was always planning on leaving the show, and blamed producers for *shock horror* making it appear otherwise.

“The show is very different to what is shown on TV,” she told So Dramatic! Corista explained that after she went on Farmer Brad’s group date with Morgan and Clare, she knew that there wasn’t anything romantic between herself and the countryman.

“As for the connection [with Brad], when we got back to the house, there was sort of nothing really there,” she said. “I enjoyed my time more with the girls than forming any sort of bond or relationship with Brad.

“I think Brad is a really great guy, but for me, I didn’t really feel like things were flowing in any sort of direction for me, and at the end of the day, it wasn’t really there,” she added.

The 31-year-old said she told producers that she wanted to skip out, but they asked her to stay for an extra day.

“When I had the original conversation [with the producers] in the morning, I said to them, ‘I’m happy to do any filming that you like, no dramas at all. All I ask for is to be respected. I’m a human being and I have a life outside of here, please don’t portray it to be any way that it’s not. With whatever girl gets the date, I do not want it to be portrayed as you know, Corista is leaving because Morgan got a date, or Clare got a date.”

Surprise, surprise: this is exactly what they did.

Despite stressing that her choice to exit was twisted to look as though she boycotted the show because she wasn’t chosen for Brad’s one-on-one date, Corista added that she doesn’t harbour any ill feelings towards the show.

But she did make a pointed effort to draw attention to the fact that her words were minced by producers. “You can actually hear how many cuts, and the tones in my voice go up and down,” she said, implying that production pieced her voiceovers together from different sentences she’d said throughout the show.

“It is insane. I can only laugh at what they’ve done,” she added.

It’s giving laugh-so-you-don’t-cry energy.
