Lorelei From ‘Farmer Wants A Wife’ Says Farmer David Broke Her Heart

Farmer Wants A Wife fans were devastated when Lorelei Bates was left heartbroken by Farmer David. Many fans (us included) believed that she was the favourite to grab the win, but when the farmer said he was falling in love with Emily, Lorelei was stunned. 

I’m not using that word lightly either; she literally fainted from shock. And while Farmer David appeared to support her through the dramatic moment, Lorelei recently revealed she still holds a grudge against him.

In an appearance on the So Dramatic! podcast, she said that the farmer hasn’t reached out once since the show wrapped up.

“I just thought that maybe after [I fainted], he would’ve reached out and been like, ‘Hey, are you ok?’. That would’ve provided some sort of closure for me,” Lorelei said. 

The reality TV contestant added that she wanted to know why Farmer David ended up choosing Emily instead, claiming that it’s hard to move on without the details. 

“Was there something that was so different about us? Or was it a moment that they had?” she asked. 

Lorelei Bates reveals what really happened during the Farmer Wants A Wife finale:

Before the finale, Lorelei was convinced that Farmer David was going to choose her.

When producers set the filming times for his big decision, Lorelei was scheduled to appear quite late in the afternoon, which she thought was a clue about the farmer’s decision. 

“I was like, ‘Oh my god, maybe it’s me’. Maybe they don’t want to film in the dark, surely I’m the last person,” she told the publication. 

During the infamous fainting scene, Lorelei admitted she thought the farmer’s break up spiel was actually positive at the start. “[He said] all these lovely things and [I thought he was choosing me], and then he said he’s falling in love with someone else.”

“I think my body just went into pure shock…I don’t know how to explain it because I wasn’t expecting it either,” she said. “One minute, I was looking at him, the next minute I collapsed. And then I was on his shoulder.”

Lorelei has proved to be a better person than most, because she doesn’t harbour any bad feelings towards her bestie on the show, Emily. 

“I sent Em a message and I meant it from my heart. I said, ‘Farmer Wants A Wife has been a really great experience because of you and we’ve developed this beautiful friendship’,” she said. 

However, losing Farmer David probably means the contestants will keep their distance from each other, with Lorelei revealing she wasn’t in a good headspace after the finale.

“I’m gonna take a solid break from dating … my heart was literally broken from [the show] and I’ve never felt that kind of pain before,” she told the podcast host. 

We’re feeling for her, especially since dating in this day and age can be a punish. But hey, at least when she begins a new relationship, it won’t end with her fainting on national TV.
