If you’re feeling like the rest of us and are a bit down in the dumps about the state of the world at the moment, here’s a small shimmer of humanity to cling to. French newspaper ‘Le Petit Journal’ captured the touching moment a father reassured his young son that peace and solidarity would win out over ‘bad guys with guns’.

Explaining to his kid that the flowers laid outside the Batlacan theatre represented the people standing together in peace.

In the midst of everything going on, it is a heartwarming reminder that most of the social, political and moral questions raised by the current crises can be answered in language even a child can understand. A real poignant example that many of societies biggest problems can become so much more complex when we forget such simple pillars like compassion, love and solidarity.

When we view the world through the same untarnished lens a child does, it can all make more sense. Find a place where no one can hear you sob and get ready for a cuteness overload. Watch the clip below:

I feel better too now, thanks!A father and son have the most precious conversation during an interview by french media at the scene of the Bataclan attacks. I saw that it hadn’t been subtitled in english yet, so I made a quick edit to show the rest of the world how freakin awesome some of our citizens are. They’re my heros. I feel better too now!
