FEMOJIS: The Push For Kickass Feminist Emojis Is Real And Here Are Our Faves
Emojis seem headed to become the language of the 21st century, which is kinda funny as they are most similar to one of the oldest languages of any civilisation: hieroglyphics.
With characters representing what is true to life, is it not a bit fucking odd that most of the emojis actually working trades, performing surgery, working in business or protecting the law are… ALL MEN?
This is the question Google is asking, as they have just submitted a proposal to the Unicode Consortium recommending the addition of 13 new female emojis that would give better representation- with emojis of women engineers, scientists, doctors and graduates.
It’s super cool and has inspired us to gather our fave feminist emojis all in one place, from Beyonce to Broad City, and Amber Rose to Oprah.
