Well… that’s the end of that chapter. Or rather, until next week when The Bachelorette kicks off, and Matty J practically becomes dead to us all. R.I.P bachy boi.

The entire final episode was set up to try and trick viewers into thinking Elise had a chance in the fight between the herself, and (his obvy soul mate) Laura.

Elise got the first meet/greet with the parents/siblings and was a total pro. She fitted in perfectly in Matty’s little fam. However, Laura’s introduction was a total trashfire. She quickly contracted verbal diarrhea as she blubbered on about nothing, and Matty’s brothers were not into her one bit.

However, their solo dates told another story. Elise’s date was a total dud, while Laura got to experience Water For Elephants meets The Notebook level romance, and the couple look so damn loved-up, the result was then and there set in stone.

At the final rose ceremony, we watched on as Elise got stuck with the dreaded first arrival. It hurt our insides watching her get dumped. But Matty’s heartfelt words for Laura, even dropping the L-bomb, was all kinds of cute.

Most importantly, Twitter made this season all the better and the finale saw the most hilarious live-tweets we’ve seen so far.

The finale of The Bachelor retold through its funniest tweets:

Elise met Matty’s fam and they instantaneously fell in love with her.

Laura meeting with the fam went errr… differently.

It was safe to say, Matty’s fam landed firmly on #TeamElise.

On Matty’s last date with Elise their chemistry was non-existent, oh, and more boats!

While his date with Laura involved kissing in the rain and swimming with an elephant.

At the final rose ceremony, the inevitable happened. Cya Elise!

After Laura won, Matty tricked us all with a faux-engagement ring. Boo!

In the end, we were all zero percent surprised Georgia Love’s doppelganger was the one to heal Matty’s broken heart.
