FIRST LOOK: Apple Is Bringing You A Bunch Of New Emojis And Pretty Soon Words Will Be Extinct
In celebration of International Emoji Day, Apple has previewed some of the fresh emojis that will be part of a new release later this year. Apple just can’t stop and won’t stop until texting actual words is a thing of the past.
While there’s already hundreds of emojis at our fingertips, that doesn’t mean that we aren’t keen for more fun little pictures to play with. Sure, most of us only use a selection of about 30 faves but new content is welcomed with open arms. Bring on the new release.
Apple is definitely playing at a ‘the more the merrier’ strategy.
Basically, Apple’s mission is not complete until there is an emoji for any and every imaginable circumstance. Emojis>words.
Except for some reason, it seems Apple doesn’t want to to give us a cucumber that will inevitably be used as a ribbed version of the eggplant emoji. I guess they just want cucumber to mean cucumber #nofun.
A #WorldEmojiDay reminder that Apple really didn't want cucumber to be the next eggplant emoji ???? ???? pic.twitter.com/WZ9Wgttm6q

But we can get hyped for a bunch of supernatural emojis that sure, might seem useless on first impression, but Apple insists that:
“More animals and mythical creatures like T-Rex, Zebra, Zombie and Elf are a fun way to describe situations”
Not sure what kind of situations Apple thinks we’re getting ourselves into but despite the extra-ness of these new word-pics, we’re keen to have them at our disposal. Especially excited for the woman in a headscarf and woman breastfeeding emojis – snaps for Apple.
Take a look at some of the highlights which should hit your phone around spring. Happy Emoji Day!
