TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé is one of the channel’s most successful shows. The program centres around the American K1-Visa process, which allows Americans to bring their overseas partners into the US, in which they must be married within 90 days.
With such a simple premise, the show has seen a variety of spin-offs including 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, 90 Day Fiancé: Pillow Talk and heaps more.
Some couples were extremely popular, they got their own show such as Family Chantel.
And with a popular show, there are going to be iconic moments that’ll absolutely floor you, so here is a mini introduction to some 90 Day Fiancé drama that’ll leave you gobsmacked or cringing.
Anfisa and Jorge: “Give me my red bag with my makeup”
Anfisa and Jorge made their 90 Day Fiancé debut in Season 4 and had fans screaming. Anfisa, originally from Russia, came to America to marry Jorge. From the start, their relationship was embroiled in fighting and arguing. Jorge’s family members also didn’t approve of Anfisa, claiming her to be a “gold digger” during their confessionals.
One of their fights became an iconic, quotable moment, within the 90 Day Fiancé fandom. As they prepare to leave their apartment, Anfisa and Jorge have an argument in the car. Fans were cracking up at Anfisa’s response to Jorge’s attitude after she asked where he was going.
Ed and Rose: Ed Takes A Shower with Rose’s Dad
Ed and Rose made massive waves during their run on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. ‘Big Ed’ is an American photographer who travelled all the way to the Philippines to meet his girlfriend, Rose, with hopes of making her his fiancé and beginning the K1-visa process.
As you know, Phillippines is very different to American and Ed was hit with a major case of culture shock. He struggled with the heat and the state of Rose’s home. He was then in for a big shock after he was made to take a shower with Rose’s dad. Talk about getting to know the in-laws, amirite?
Mohammed and Danielle: Danielle throws a binder at Mohammed
Mohammed, originally from Tunisia, and Danielle are one of “the most explosive couples” in 90 Day Fiancé history, according to reunion host Shaun Robinson. They were introduced to the audience in Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé and have been on countless spin-offs with and without each other.
One of their most jaw-dropping moments was their intense fight in Miami after they separated. Danielle had agreed on annulling their marriage, but as soon as Mohammed stopped returning Danielle’s calls, shit hit the fan. A screaming match ensued, books were thrown, and police were called. Danielle also threatened to do everything in her power to get Mohammed deported from America.
Nicole and Azan: Azan is only 55% attracted to Nicole
Nicole and Azan first appeared in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise in Season 4 and, since their first episode, many fans believed that their relationship would not work out.
Nicole would visit Azan in Morocco to try and figure out the K1 visa process. Their relationship was also very strained. It was clouded with a lot of arguing, bickering, and fighting. In one shocking scene, Azan reveals that he is only 55% attracted to Nicole, accusing her of being “lazy” due to her physical appearance.
Paul and Karine: “Poop water” and a penis shield
Paul was definitely a stand-out individual on the show. He and his ex-wife, Karine, first entered the show on the first season of the spin-off 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 days and the storyline followed Paul’s journey to a remote village in Brazil, where Karine lived.
To prep for his trip, Paul showed an immense amount of protective gear he had packed before he jetted off. It was almost like an episode of Doomsday Preppers. Thankfully, Paul made it safely to Karine with all his prep stuff, and Karine decided to take Paul out for some local fun.
Paul then explained to the camera that his doctor advised him to swim with a condom and a ‘penis shield’ to protect him from parasites that could potentially swim up his weiner.
And to top of all that cringe, he also wears a life vest to swim and as soon as he jumps in he spits out the water calling it “poop water”. Sheesh, what a way to make a first impression.
Colt and Larissa: “Who is against the Queen will die!”
Larissa, a Brazilian native, and Colt had an extremely tumultuous relationship. Since Larissa landed in Vegas for Season 6, she was unimpressed with Colt’s living standards, especially the fact that he still lived with his mother, Debbie.
Things reached boiling point when Colt’s cousins came over for a BBQ and they chose to confront Larissa on her attitude. The argument then turned into a screaming match, with Larissa randomly yelling, “who is against the Queen will die!”
Asuelu and Kalani: Christmas Chaos
Asuelu and Kalani first made their 90 Day Fiancé debut alongside Colt and Larissa in Season 6 and have been featured in a variety of spin-offs. One of their most iconic moments in 90 Day Fiancé history was their run on 90 day Fiancé: Happily Ever After where Asuelu’s mother and sister get into a mini scrap with Kalani’s family over a baby blanket.
The two families previously didn’t get along due to culture clashes, but the friction intensified during a Christmas party after Asuelu gifts a baby blanket to Kalani who has previously mentioned that she no longer wants any more kids. Asuelu’s family then get furious, saying that Asuelu should “find another wife in Samoa.”
Asuelu then tackles his sister, before she could get physical with his wife and the of course, the dramatics were played up! While Asuelu drags his family out, his mother is heard saying “don’t touch us! We don’t love you anymore!” while Kalani cries.
