Brace yourself, Season 6 of Game of Thrones is coming and it will bring with it another Aussie cast member.

According to US entertainment magazine Variety, Australian actor Essie Davis has been cast and “will play an actress who stars in a play called ‘The Bloody Hand‘ which is meant to mirror the world of Westeros….Davis’ character will play a version of Cersei Lannister.”

After appearing in a plethora of Australian TV shows (including Play School) and winning a swag of local industry awards, Hobart-born Davis has turned her attention to international stardom and things are looking up.

On the world stage, Davis is best known for her roles in The Matrix sequels and ABC’s crime drama, Miss Fisher’s Murder MysteriesShe joins Melbourne’s Noah Taylor who starred in Game Of Thrones for eight episodes as Locke before having his neck snapped by Bran Stark while warging into Hodor – classic.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones will premiere in Australian Autumn, 2016.
