GET PSYCHED: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Series Fave Gendry Is Finally Returning This Season
He’s back!!?! Suspicions that our beloved, long lost Gendry could be making a much-awaited comeback in season 7 of Game of Thrones seemed to be confirmed at the season premiere – and now by the man himself.
First the actor who plays Gendry, Skins star Joe Dempsie was spotted looking suave as hell at the GoT premiere this week. This peaked fan excitement and sparked the theory he was making a comeback. Now Dempsie has stoke the fire of speculation hinting that indeed the dream could be coming true. Responding to questions about his return with Los Angeles Times, he said:
“Very fortunately from what I’ve seen, it’s been nothing but interest and excitement and some quite witty memes.”
Trueeeee that. The series’ socials even shared this to torture us all:

This is the moment we have all been waiting for. We haven’t seen Gendry since he rowed away in his lonely little boat in the season three finale. He’s been far far away from any and all plots but he’s been kept alive in our hearts.
When Gendry didn’t row back into the script in season four people were not prepared to let that slide. There is too much love for Gendry for him to be forgotten.
He’s the sweetest, down-on-his-luck heartthrob and his chemistry with Arya is something we sure as hell better be seeing more of this season. Reunite them ASAP. Which by creator George RR Martin’s standards will probs be by the series’ finale.
Rumours of Gendry’s return have been cropping up and being shut down for the last year and tbh it has been an emotional rollercoaster.
Back in September 2016, Dempsie was spotted at the Belfast airport while GoT was filming in the city, and fans began to believe that the time had finally arrived. WE SEE YOU.

Excitement was sparked again when this video came out of GoT filming a scene that seemed to show Gendry (or what looks like Gendry from admittedly very far away) with Tyrion and a row boat on a beach. WE SEE YOU.
We have so many questions for Gendry! Like where the F have you been?! What have you been doing?! How’s the rig looking after all the rowing?!
Gendry is the last surviving bastard son of the late King Baratheon and we’re all super excited to see him make a comeback and stir up some trouble in Westeros.
