GO PLANET! Leonardo DiCaprio Is Working On A Captain Planet Movie

Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, Heart – with your powers combined I am Captain DiCaprio.

Hollywood legend and proud Oscar owner Leonardo DiCaprio is no stranger to environmental issues.

For starters, the dude has been galavanting around the planet speaking about climate change in his role as a UN Messenger of Peace, released his scary AF 2016 documentary ‘Before the Flood‘, while also running the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, an organisation on a mission to protect vulnerable wildlife and threatened ecosystems. Sounds like the guy needs to catch up on some sleep tbh.

Now it’s been confirmed that DiCaprio’s production company,  Appian Way Productions, is also working to develop a movie about a hero who can cut our pollution down to zero – the one and only Captain Planet.

YES – A CAPTAIN PLANET MOVIE

Yes – Paramount and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way Productions are teaming to up to get everyone’s fave eco superhero Captain Planet to return, and stop the bad guys who like to loot and plunder.

If you think about it, it makes total sense. The message of fighting environmental damage, promoting recycling and taking pollution down to zero has never been more relevant.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is apparently eyeing off Jono Matt and Scream Queens star Glen Powell to write the script.  Powell may also star in the show.

Sources also say the story takes place years after the adventures of the show, with the Captain now a washed-up has-been who needs the kids more than they need him.
