Di Kershaw, a beloved member of the iconic Gogglebox Australia cast, has passed away at age 76.

The news broke this morning after entertainment reporter, Peter Ford, told 3AW that the fan favourite had died during a battle with a short illness. “She’s been sick sadly for a couple of months now, so condolences to Mick and the entire family,” Ford said on the radio show.

According to the Daily Mail, doctors discovered an inoperable tumour in the reality star’s throat. A close friend to Mick and Di told the news site that Di didn’t tell anyone about her declining health. “She decided not to tell anyone and just spend quality time with their family,” the source claimed.

A joint statement from Foxtel, Network 10, and Endemol Shine Australia confirmed the news of Di’s passing today. “We are unbelievably saddened to hear of the passing of Di Kershaw. For the past eight years we were privileged to have her luminescent character make us chuckle with her sardonic wit, crackling laugh and her impeccable style on Gogglebox,” the statement reads.

“From everyone at Foxtel, Network 10, and Endemol Shine Australia we extend our condolences and love to husband Mick and the rest of the family. Thank you for letting us share the warmth, humour and heart of your wife, mother, and grandmother.”

Mick and Di were double trouble on the show, appearing on Gogglebox since the first season. Fans loved her incredible wit, and personality, and I just loved how Mick would stare at Di lovingly from time to time.

According to their Foxtel Gogglebox bio, the pair have been together for more than 50 years. “Art dealers Mick and Di met on Sydney’s Northern Beaches when Di was 17. They’ve been happily married for more than 50 years and love nothing more than spending time with each other,” the description reads.

Di leaves behind her husband, Mick, as well as her two adult children, Victoria and Alex, and grandson Harvey.

Thank you so much, Di, for all the laughs and gags you have given us throughout your time on Gogglebox. You were definitely a fan fave and we hope you’re resting peacefully.
