True crime fiends get ready because HBO series I’ll Be Gone In The Dark is dropping on Australia’s newest streaming service Binge on Sunday, August 9.

The six-part docuseries explores writer Michelle McNamara’s investigation into the dark world of the notorious Golden State Killer. The Golden State Killer terrorised California in the ’70s and ’80s, and was responsible for numerous home invasions, rapes, and murders.

I’ll Be Gone In The Dark was published in 2018, after McNamara (who died before the book was published) spent years investigating the crimes and trying to bring justice to the victims. Two months after her book was published, former police officer Joseph James DeAngelo was arrested for the crimes after being identified through DNA evidence.
