Photos Of The ‘Gossip Girl’ Reboot Have Hit The Internet And We Can Already Spot The Doppelgängers

Hey Upper East Siders, Gossip Girl here. Looks like there’s a new squad in town claiming The MET steps as their own, and we couldn’t be more excited.

It’s been less than a decade since the original Gossip Girl TV series wrapped up, but if you thought that would stop them from making a reboot, you’d be sorely mistaken.

Filming for the new, more progressive and more diverse, Gossip Girl is well underway and, thanks to some paparazzi shots, we can see what the cast look like. Spoiler alert: Everyone is so hot, we’re gonna need a sip of water.

Also, side note, I’m not sure who this Dua Lipa-looking person is, but I have some thoughts about the fashion…

There are a few takeaways from this photo-op. Firstly, everyone looks older than 30, but let’s be real, we’re used to older actors playing teenagers, so we don’t exactly mind. Secondly, is anyone else getting Elite vibes from this? Thirdly, there are some serious doppelgängers in this cast!

Let’s start off with Thomas Doherty, aka the new Chuck Bass.

He may not be able to pack his own lunch but his resemblance to Ed Westwick is uncanny!

Moving on, let’s check out Emily Alyn Lind, who is serving up some serious Jenny Humphrey vibes.

Just look at that oversize woolly sweater! Even Taylor Momsen would be proud.

And finally, can we talk about Eli Brown.

Eli Brown looks so much like Penn Badgley it’s not even funny. Seriously, we give it approximately eight years until he’s cast in the You reboot.

Whitney Peak, Jordan Alexander, Savannah Lee Smith, Evan Mock, and Zión Moreno are also in the cast of this Gossip Girl reboot. Even though they don’t resemble other characters from the OG series, this is 100 percent a good thing because, finally, we can see diversity hit the Upper East Side

Now, I think I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say, we’re super excited for this reboot — but I have so many questions. Like, how does the Gossip Girl concept even work in 2020? Surely, with Find My Friends and the power of social media, it would be extremely easy to find out who the culprit is. Also, who is going to be ‘Gossip Girl’ in this reboot? We’re assuming that it wouldn’t be the Dan-esque character (because that would be stupidly obvious) but, if it isn’t the Dorota-esque character, we’ll be suing.
