A Great White Shark Washed Up In Sydney Yesterday And Went Swimming In The Ocean Pool
The weather is heating up in Sydney this week but despite the rising mercury, some Sydneysiders are thinking twice about going for a dip at Manly any time soon.
Yesterday a Great White Shark washed up on the popular Manly surf beach and was left flailing in distress on the shore. While it was only a cute lil’ baby shark, the monster is still damn terrifying to us. No thanks. Nope.
Heres the poor little baby shark getting itself into some trouble in front of swimmers:
NOOOPE!
Rescuers from the nearby Manly Sea Life Sanctuary managed to get a stretcher and transport the shark to the nearby Fairy Bower Ocean Pool – thankfully clearing out the crowd of swimmers first.
It was left chilling out in the pool and putting on a show for swimmers who shared clips to social media.

The shark remained in the pool into the evening and was later transported the local shark to the sanctuary in the most Aussie way possible. Life Sciences manager Rob Townsend told the ABC:
“We … put it in a tub on the back of a ute”
If al goes well, the shark will remain at the aquarium overnight in a tank accompanied by divers. Townsend explained:
“White sharks in general don’t do well in captivity for long periods of time so we have to have divers in there to make sure he doesn’t bounce off the walls”
“We have a roster of divers so there will always be someone in the water with it.”
If all goes well, the shark will hopefully be released back into the wild today – hopefully really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really faaar far away from the shoreline.
