Hailey Bieber has spilled all the tea on her relationship with Justin Bieber’s ex, Selena Gomez, in a tell-all interview.

To give you a quick rundown on this beef, Justin Bieber first rose to prominence in the late 2000s and became a worldwide heartthrob. During his career, he had an on-and-off-again relationship with Disney star, Selena Gomez.

The pair officially broke it off in late 2017, and in early 2018 it was confirmed that he was dating Hailey Baldwin, who he was also linked to throughout the years.

After rekindling their relationship in early 2018, Justin and Hailey got engaged in July of the same year. The pair then got married two months later and had a second wedding in October 2019.

But ever since Hailey and Justin started dating, their relationship has always been the target of criticism from Selena Gomez’s stans.

Hailey has finally decided to speak out about the long years of drama between her and Selena’s fans, with Alexandra ‘Alex’ Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, and we must say there was a lot of hot goss that was spilt.

It’s worth mentioning that while it’s obvious Hailey is talking about Selena, she never uses her name instead referring to the pop singer as “her” or “his ex”.

On the cheating rumours…

One of the first things that Hailey addressed on the podcast was the rumour that she broke up Justin and Selena. Alex mentioned that fans were ‘confused with the timeline’ of Baldwin and Bieber’s relationship, as Bieber broke up with Selena in late-2017 and then he was confirmed to be dating Hailey in 2018.

“Were you ever with Justin, romantically, at the same time as her?” Alex asked. “No, not one time,” Hailey replied. “I would never, it’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship. I would just never do that. I was raised better than that.”

Hailey also mentioned that she first got with Justin when she was just 18, and she understands how people could get their relationship timeline mixed up. “I understand how it looks from the outside,” Hailey said.

She added that she thought Justin and Selena’s split was the right decision. “That was a situation where I know for a fact that it was the right thing for them to close that door. They were not in a relationship at that time [Hailey and Bieber started dating again], but of course, there’s a very long history there, and it’s not my relationship, it has nothing to do with me.”

On how she feels about the hate she receives online…

Hailey went on to explore the ‘numbing’ feeling she gets when she reads hateful messages online from Selena fans. She said that a lot of the fans blame her for Selena and Justin’s relationship ending and that she understands why they come for her.

“A lot of the hate and the perpetuation comes from like, ‘oh you stole him’, and I guess maybe, it just comes from the fact that they wished he had ended up with someone else, and that’s fine.”

She also talked about how Justin had to stand up for her at one point and she questions why fans just can’t move on from him and Selena. “I know that for him that’s hurtful because if we have moved on… that’s kind of just the whole thought process of like it’s just hurtful. It’s bullying.”

Hailey also says the experience has left her feeling ‘traumatised’. “I do think it has changed [me]…It made me just very like closed off and like not want to share anything really of myself on the internet. It’s like being traumatised, kind of like you’re too scared to speak.”

On the Met Gala crying rumour…

When the 2021 Met Gala rolled around, a TikTok went viral that showed Hailey crying alongside Justin as fans can be heard chanting “Selena!” It looked like she then covered her tears by wearing glasses.

Ireland Baldwin, Hailey’s cousin, replied to the video in the comments, writing “They’re one of the happiest and most in love couples I’ve ever gotten the chance to be around. They don’t care about them”.

Hailey finally addressed this incident, saying that she could hear everyone screaming but she didn’t know what was going on. “I could hear everyone screaming and again, I think there’s a certain part of you that has a numbness of just like I was like, really surprised.”

She then went to say she saw the video after the Met Gala and called it out saying it wasn’t real. “The whole thing of everybody being like, oh, he’s trying to tell her not to cry, that was not true.”

Hailey said although the yelling was “disrespectful”, she revealed the real reason she was crying was far less dramatic. “I felt like I had something in my eye… That’s just what goes to show you how out of context things can be seen”.

The model did label the Selena chants as “disrespectful” to her relationship. “I think I’ve endured so much disrespect and I still do to this day that there was like a part of me that was just like another day, another negative slay.”

On having people against her relationship…

In the podcast, Hailey said that it’s sad that some people are against her relationship with Justin, describing the feeling as “heavy”.

She did also acknowledge that despite the criticism, she’s still extremely privileged. “There’s also this like kind of weird twisted thing where I’m like, I don’t get to feel that way because I have an amazing life and I’m so blessed and I’m so fortunate. So like, it’s almost my dialogue in my head feels like, ‘get the fuck over it. You don’t get to feel that way because there are people in this world that are struggling’.”

On speaking to Selena after getting married to Justin…

Hailey revealed that she has spoken to Selena after getting married to Justin, saying “It’s all respect. It’s all love.” Hailey added that Selena doesn’t owe her anything and that she “respects her a lot.”

Since the podcast dropped, Selena has seemingly addressed Hailey’s statements by speaking about kindness in a TikTok live.

While she didn’t name-drop Hailey or call out her Selena stans, she urged anyone who was watching or supporting her Rare Beauty brand to use kind words. “I think some of the things… are just vile and disgusting. And it’s not fair because no one ever should be spoken to in the manner that I’ve seen,” she said.
