Hamish & Andy Are Being Accused Of Pinching ‘True Story’ Idea Off Nova Host
Some major shade is being thrown from one commercial radio station to the other over Hamish and Andy‘s new TV series ‘True Story‘ which debuted on the Nine Network last night. It comes on the back of Nova host David ‘Luttsy’ Lutteral accusing Andy Lee of stealing his idea for the show.
Luttsy is claiming that he told Andy about a planned series idea called ‘Cracking Yarns’, which he and Nova co-host Ash Bradnam had even filmed a pilot for with Nine.
After watching last night’s premiere which received mixed reviews, Luttsy is now saying that the radio’s show is “word for word” what he had told Andy. During the segment on ‘Ash, Kip and Luttsy’, Lutteral said:
“I’m just throwing it out there,” he said. “Ash, you were part of the pilot we did. I’d half shot that pilot and then other things have taken over so I haven’t actually completed it.”
Channel Nine have been quick to deny these allegations. Instead, they had fired back that the idea for True Story was already in the works long before Andy and Luttsy’s convo.
“Radio Karate [True Story’s production company] have confirmed that the format for the program True Story with Hamish & Andy was conceived, and was in development by Radio Karate, over a year before Andy and Luttsy met for a drink in New York.”
Sounds like the Nova host might just be a bit jelly he didn’t get the show started first.
