Here Are Hamish & Andy’s Greatest Moments, As We Say Goodbye 4EVA
After over a decade of Hamish and Andy making all of our commutes home so much more fun, the radio duo hosted their final show EVER last week. We are barely holding it together. Such sweet memories.
It’s hard to believe that their radio show first kicked off way back in 2006. The hilarious pair would go on to make regular appearances on Rove and host their own television shows Real Stories, Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year and this year’s True Stories.
Oh, and Hamish won a Gold Logie.
In stark contrast to other radio giants Kyle and Jackie O, these harmless goofs have dominated the Australian radio landscape for all the right reasons. They are the absolute embodiment of the Aussie larrikin and their shenanigans have never ceased to entertain us.
So we’ve delved deep into the archives to discover some new and old gems. Soo many lols.
Here’s the duo’s funniest moments over the past 10 years:
Caravan of Courage
The boys’ epic caravaning road trip went far and wide, across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Great Britain and Ireland. The Caravan of Courage tracked slowly across some of the longest highways, and got a taste of some weird and wacky local delicacies and subcultures.
Sailing a Tall Ship to Tasmania
In 2009, the Hamish & Andy Show began broadcasting into Tasmania, so the boys decided they needed to board a tall ship and set sail to meet all of their new listeners. It turned out to be a bit of a nightmare, as they assembled a crew of listeners to head across Bass Strait for Van Diemen’s Land, hitting a gnarly storm. They almost died.
Finding The ‘Best Bloke in Australia’
The guys unsuspectingly met the absolute best bloke in Australia, after Hamish called a random listener, and asked him to lie on his behalf to a potential employer about his experience. The random dude more than delivered, and the name James Lord went down as a local hero.
The People’s Island
The comedy duo actually bought AN ISLAND for the people, with plans to settle as errr…the People’s Island, bringing with them the ultimate cross-section of society to start anew.
‘Andy, By Hamish’ Fragrance
This year, Hamish launched the radio show’s very own fragrance, much to the annoyance of Andy, who became the face of the cologne. It ended up selling out across Australia, proving that the boys could do anything. Here’s the ad:
Hamish’s Timomatic Signature Side-Hustle
This might be my favourite thing Hamish has ever done, but I do love a bit of niche side-hustle. Hamish worked out he could perfectly imitate X-Factor star Timomatic’s signature, so he started up his own business selling signed pieces of paper for $10 dollars. It was a bold enterprise but it didn’t go down so well.
‘Freeating’ Challenge
Hamish and Andy attempted to eat only free food for an entire week. Mostly they stocked up on samples, and even staked out a Macca’s birthday party to scramble for the leftover food. The shame. Hamish also attempted to bury food so he could pretend he had found it in the ground. Skip to 1:50 for when the action kicks off.
Christmas Pud
Hamish had a dream that he remade Maroon 5’s hit ‘Daylight’ as a Christmas carol and they made it happen. That’s really all you need to know.
Frank Stallone: ‘Far From Over’
This is peak H&A, and a testament to the crazy stuff the boys can achieve. Rather than bring Sylvester Stallone to Australia, they brought his slightly-less-famous brother, Frank, after Andy discovered his banger ‘Far From Over’. He toured for one night Sta-lonely, in the ‘Let me be Frank with You: The Fully Franked Tour’.
Hamish Reads Fred Basset
Hamish’s obsession with underappreciated comic Fred Basset knew no bounds. Every week, he’d attempt to read the strip as Andy protested. Eventually Andy would torture Hamish with peculiar punishments to prevent him reading it. But nope, he prevailed. Onya, Ham.
54 Hour Party Marathon
The team hit up 42 parties in one weekend, attending back-to-back shindigs across three states in a 54 hour period. It was hella hectic.
Horgs’ Inventions
We can’t talk about H&A without mentioning Andy’s ex-housemate Horgs. He is one of Australia’s greatest thinkers and would regularly appear on the show to pitch terrible genius inventions. Some of them even got made.
Cool Boys and the Frontman
Arguably one of Australia’s most unique bands, Hamish, Andy and unofficial radio show co-host Cacklin’ Jack started a band last year called Cool Boys and the Frontman. They can’t really play their instruments that well, but at least they give it a good try. They even invited some music legends to help them out as lead singer.
Dinosaur in a Carpark
This will never not be funny. Just watch. Hamish and Andy, never change.

You will be sorely missed fellas, but thanks for the memories!
