Yes… we are very excited and if you’re not sure why, read this: Everything We Know About The Avalanches Highly Anticipated Second Album
Overnight, a snippet of the new music surfaced online and Triple J have today confirmed that they’ll be playing a world premiere of a brand new track just before 2pm today.
Apparently the song is called ‘Frankie Sinatra‘ and is part of this snippet previewed live on Apple Radio (below). It’s believed this song will feature Danny Brown, after the artist told Triple J backstage at Splendour In The Grass 2014, that he’d worked with The Avalanches on a track by the same name.
This is not the song that the band teased through posters and an exclusive hotline number earlier. It’s understood by Triple J that this song is called ‘Subways’.
The pioneering Australian electronic group have kept very quiet and mysterious since their genius debut LP ‘Since I Left You’. Following conspiracy theories and even a new documentary – there’s plenty of hype. Today the group will finally deliver and we’re still trying to get our heads out of the clouds.
Will it live up to the hype? Who knows. We just can’t bloody wait to find out.
Watch the trailer video below which features Danny Brown alongside Ariel Pink, Father John Misty, Kirin J Callinan, and Jennifer Herrema (Royal Trux), all discussing their involvement with the influential band.
