The legends behind emojis have just announced that they will bring us 38 new symbols, meaning eventually we will be able to communicate purely through emojis.

Some of the new ones to come are a bit stock standard, but here are a few of the more exciting ones and how you can expect to use them in everyday life.

Raised back of hand

As our girl Rihanna says “bitch better have my money”. Stamp your authority via text and let it be known that you aren’t messing around with this new and useful emoji.

Pregnant Woman

Can’t quite figure out how to tell you friends, family or partner that there is a bun in the oven? Don’t worry, emojis have your back. Just flick them a text with the pregnant woman emoji and they will very quickly clue to what’s going on.

Black heart

You may not think this one will get much of a run, but we think it will be a new favourite. Perfect for sending to an ex or fling that is dead inside and you just can’t quite express how you feel in words.

Avocado and Bacon

These two go hand in hand. Wake up struggling on a Saturday or Sunday morning and just send this out to the crew and everyone will know that a debrief brunch is on the cards.

Cucumber

This will be the new eggplant. There I said it.

Handshake

The handshake emoji will become the new official agreement signal. Whenever you can’t meet in person to handshake on a decision, just text this across and when you get one back everyone will agree that you have a ‘handshake agreement’.

Shrug

Those passive aggressive people that send the ‘k’ text will have a new way to annoy you. Alternately this could be good for when you have no idea what is going on.
