While the tech world is busy frothing and scoffing at Apple’s latest announcement this morning, the fashion world has something itself to talk about. Hermès will be teaming up with the tech giant to try and add a little more sophistication and class to the Apple Watch. The play is another nudge forward for Apple in their attempts to push the brand closer in to the fashion and lifestyle space.

In my opinion, the smartwatch is a novelty toy with some cool features I might use once or twice while showing off to friends. Other than that, I just don’t really see the practicality when a bigger, more powerful screen is in my pocket. A good quality traditional watch, or a ‘timepiece’ for those top-hat and coat inclined, has a sentimental value and a bit art to it (think of all those tiny cogs and wheels spinning away in there) that I just don’t think can be superseded.

However, the French luxury brand are trying their best and coming pretty close to winning me over with this attempt. While the watch itself is the normal stainless steel model, it’s been kitted out with a unique Hermès themed clock. Replacing the plastic and metallic range of straps is  high quality leather handmade by artisans in France that comes in a range of tones.

There are three variations to the strap, Single, Double, and Cuff with a small range of colour variances.
