‘Hey Dad’ actor Robert Hughes’s was “unloaded” upon by fellow prison inmates on his first day in jail, being covered in human faeces and urine at Goulburn Prison.

According to news.com.au, the former Australian TV star, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison for indecently assaulting four victims, had at least 30 prisoners throw cartons of poo and wee on him from behind a separating fence as he entered the prison yard.

In the attack, which took place last year, prisoners waited for Hughes (who is normally in protection with other sex offenders because of his crimes) to walk though a 40 metre exposed area to launch the attack.

Hughes sat on a hill in the yard, dripping in the excrement and crying.

Writer, James Phelps’ new book, ‘Australia’s Most Murderous Prison: Behind the Walls of Goulburn Jail‘ reveals that the assault left Hughes so traumatised, that he wet his own pants and was left sobbing on the phone to his wife.

Phelps also reveals in his book that after the confrontation, Hughes sat on a hill in the yard, dripping in the excrement and crying.

As well as the shower of filth, he was also met by a barrage of verbal abuse, including one inmate who poked fun at him saying, “i’m a celebrity, get me out of here”.
