This Upcoming Netflix Xmas Movie ‘Holidate’ Actually Looks Umm….Good?
It feels extremely wrong to be writing about a Christmas movie right now, but as we are about to step into October for this absolute garbage fire of a year, at least we have something to look forward to.
Holidate is Netflix’s latest original Chrissy movie that will drop later this month. The film will see American Horror Story’s Emma Roberts and Australian actor Luke Bracey play friends who decide to be each other’s dates for holiday events throughout the year — in an attempt to appease their families whinging about them being constantly single. The two mates, of course, fall in love because it is a Christmas movie after all.
The story actually sounds like a good, non-cheesy concept and when Emma’s character says to her family in the trailer, “Why is everyone so suspicious of a happy, single woman?”…ooft, I felt that. Amen.
Could this movie give iconic holiday flick A Christmas Prince a run for its money? A girl can dream.
Holidate drops on Netflix on October 28.
