The Simpsons continues to dominate the world of TV animation after over 27 years in the game. Last night, the show became the first cartoon animation to do a live broadcast.

At the end of the most recent episode, titled “Simprovised,” Homer Simpson answered phone calls from fans live on-air for 3 minutes. Due to the differing time zones across America, there were two different editions of the live Q&A for both the East and West Coasts.

The stunt was achieved through motion capture technology, with voice actor, Dan Castellaneta being wired up to cutting-edge equipment while he rattled off Homer’s iconic voice.

During the broadcast, Homer talked about a range of topics ranging from Drake, to Donald Trump – he even confessed his favourite kind of pizza.

The live segment concluded the 27th season of the show, but fortunately even Homer himself jokingly stated; The Simpsons will “probably never end”.
