Everything You Need To Know About ‘Hunted’ Season 2
Hunted first appeared on Aussie screens in 2022, with the reality TV show proving a ratings hit for Channel 10. So it’s no surprise that the network is bringing it back for 2023. To celebrate, we’re sharing all the tea about this year’s season.
ICYMI, Hunted revolves around a set of “Fugitives”: run-of-the-mill, everyday Aussie twosomes, tasked with outrunning some very skilled “Hunters”. The Hunters are made up from some of “the world’s best investigators”, coming from jobs with the Australian Defence Force, Australian Federal Police, and British Intelligence.
The contestants are dropped off at a mystery location without any electronics, and are free to use disguises and decoy moves to throw the hunters off the scent. Whoever manages to reach the extraction point on Day 21 before being found by a Hunter, will walk away with a share of $100,000 in prize money.
Here’s everything you need to know about Channel 10’s Hunted Season 2:
When will Hunted Season 2 air?
Hunted Season 2 will start airing on Sunday, July 17, on Channel 10 and 10 Play. Season 1 had nine episodes, so the show will likely run until August.
What can we expect from Hunted Season 2?
Channel 10 has teased that the 20 Aussies taking part in Hunted will have to go to great lengths to avoid getting caught. The series is taking place in Victoria, and the 10 teams will need to be thinking ahead to outsmart the hunters.
Who are the ‘fugitives’ on Hunted Season 2?
Bayan and Eesha, WA
Bayan has some past experience that’ll likely be handy for the hunt. His stint in the Army and experience working as a security detail for clientele like Michael Jackson and the Queen means he’ll know how the Hunters think. His friend Eesha has a different set of skills – she’s a spiritual and motivational coach.
Ben and Callum, VIC
These two mates have a strong friendship that spans years, from primary school to now living together. The pair are self-described geeks, with a love for Dungeons & Dragons, but time will tell if they’re able to use their gaming strategy out in the real world.
Byron and Tanase, VIC
This pair haven’t ever been camping before, so they’re in for a rude awakening when they go off-grid. Single mum Tanase is going on Hunted to set an example for her son, hoping to show him that you can succeed when you try things outside your comfort zone.
Cath and Kel, VIC
These boujee friends are hoping to use their contacts in Victoria to help them stay concealed for 21 days – by using their friends’ yachts, luxury cars and holiday homes. They sound less like fugitives and more like they’re going on a holiday, but we support it.
Ed and Jimi, NSW
These close friends are using their time on the run as a last hurrah, with Ed planning to head overseas after the show. While Ed thrives with forward planning, Jimi will pick up the slack if and when things don’t go as hoped.
Glenn and Taylah, QLD
Taylah is a boxing superstar, claiming her first Australian title at just age 15. Since then, her record has become increasingly more impressive, including a Bronze medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and being a five-time Aussie champ. Her coach Glenn is almost like a father to her, and has over 17 years of military experience under his belt. This unstoppable duo will definitely be one to watch.
Holly and Josh, VIC
These lovebirds have compared themselves to Katniss and Peeta in The Hunger Games, which is… interesting? Will Josh be painting camouflage on himself because he’s an expert at decorating cakes, and is Holly an expert archer? Apparently, Josh’s background in the Australian Army Reserves means he’s an expert when it comes to escaping capture, surveillance, survival techniques, and camouflage. Meanwhile, Holly is a dancer with a large social network in the area.
Megan and Gracie, QLD
This aunty and niece duo are playing to win for their family, who have been hit with cancer. The pair work at Megan’s beauty salon, and are going to lean into their social skills while they’re on the run.
Sonja and Elerrina, QLD
These two besties met at a watermelon-eating contest, so that’s fun. Their plan revolves around utilising disguises, changing their hair colour, and are apparently the underdogs of the series.
Tharren and Jordan, NSW/VIC
This father-son team have a solid bond, and plan to use their time on the run to spread kindness. They’re aiming to do one good deed a day while evading capture, so they’re probs going to be caught pretty early on.
