Insta-Celebs Lose Their Shit Over Instagram Switch To Algorithm-Based Feed

Not so much.
In the aftermath of Instagram announcing changes, which will order feeds based on a similar model to Facebook, this past week Instagram users have lost their damn minds. Clogging up most Instagram feeds is a kinda pathetic meme doing the rounds, practically begging followers to “turn on notifications” to keep seeing posts.
Case in point:
Why these people have chosen right now to share these posts is unknown. Instagram has assured users that nothing is in fact changing at the moment. But it’s more then likely come from a chain-reaction effect.

Instagram announced earlier this month it would begin trialling showing the “best” posts in feeds first, instead of chronologically, but has said: “All the posts will still be there,” said the company, “just in a different order.”
In a weird, misguided attempt to stay popular, many of these memes have come from Instagram accounts with hundreds of thousands of followers, which in accordance with changes will probably actually benefit from the update- they’ll likely dominate feeds. By making followers turn on notifications, this will send a message to their phone every single time a user posts.
Ain’t nobody got time for that!
